Estela/Wake
Para esta instalación exploré la manera en la cual usamos portarretratos como objetos de uso para recordar. El trabajo comprende un grupo de fotos familiares, la mayoría tomadas por mi, y un portarretrato con un performance en video donde aparezco viendo fijamente a otro portarretrato. Se concentra y medita sobre la acción de observar y utilizar estos objetos, dada su importancia y el papel que juegan en la vida de otros migrantes que conozco, y en la mía.

For this installation I explored portrait frames and the way in which we use them as objects of remembrance. The work consists of an arrangement of family pictures, most of which were taken by me, and one frame containing a video performance of me staring at another portrait frame. It focuses and meditates on the action of observing and using these objects, given the importance of their role in the life of other migrants I know, and myself.
